The story, told in the dark
Nine summers ago the power went out at a rooftop party, and Sana handed Julian a lit candle.
He held it for three hours. Partly because the lights stayed off, mostly because she kept coming back to check on the flame. They have been trading that candle ever since.
So this is the wedding: one night, one garden, every candle they own. Come stand in the warm part.

The order of the evening
The garden, and the house that keeps it
A stone house, a walled garden, and a lawn that runs out into the dark. Verdant Hollow, two hours from the city and worth every minute of it.

Getting there
Cars up the beech drive from 6:30. The last turn is unlit on purpose; your headlights will find the gate.
Staying
The house sleeps forty. Write to us for a room, or take one at the Hollow Inn, ten minutes down the lane.
Wear
Evening clothes you can stand on grass in. It cools fast after eleven; bring the good coat.
