Questions
When do I need to RSVP by?
The first of May, please. The form takes two minutes and feeds straight into seating, shuttles, and the kitchen.
Can I bring a plus one?
If your invitation names a guest or says ’and guest,’ absolutely. If it does not, we have kept the list tight so we can feed everyone at one very long table. We appreciate you rolling with it.
Are kids invited?
We love your kids, and Sunday brunch is fully theirs. Friday and Saturday are adults only, with the exception of the babies in our immediate families. Several stays on our list can recommend trusted local sitters.
What is the dress code?
Evening clothes you can stand on grass in. Suits without the jacket panic, dresses that move, shoes that forgive a lawn. It cools fast after eleven; bring the good coat.
What will the weather be like?
Late June here is long and mild: warm evenings, cool nights, and light in the sky until ten. The lawn gets dewy after midnight; you have been warned about the shoes twice now.
How do I get to Verdant Hollow?
Train to Marlow Station, then twenty minutes by taxi or shuttle. Driving takes about two hours from the city, and the house has parking on the lawn field.
Is there a shuttle to the villa?
Yes. Shuttles leave the village green and the front door of the Hollow Inn starting at half past six, and run home until the last song.
Where should I stay?
We have rooms held at six places, from Bram & Fern at £95 a night to whole barns across the valley. The Stay page has all of it, including the code.
Can I take photos?
The ceremony is unplugged: phones away for fifteen minutes while the candles do their work. After that, shoot everything; the light is worth it.
What about gifts?
Your presence in the garden is genuinely the gift; many of you are crossing oceans. If you insist anyway, the Registry page has three honest options.
